March 16, 2006 Minutes – Sublette Fire Department

 

President Hank Robinson called meeting to order at 19:02. BFFA welcome given by Chief Doug Erbes.

Held pledge and moment of silence.

 

Dinner break.  Meeting resumed @ 1927 hrs. Past Presidents acknowledged: Pat Hilliker, & Jeff Bryant

 

Secretary’s Report: motion made to dispense the reading of the minutes.

 

Treasures Report: Balance of $6207.35. Bills for payment Hank Robinson $392.00 for food and booklet for the

Grain bin rescue class and food for March meeting.

 

Committee Reports:

Training:

 

Safety: seminar at Franklin Grove FPD on vehicle Safety. Copy of the CD will be made available to members.

 

Newsletter: This months mailing will start using our new 11x17-paper format. This will eliminate the need for

envelopes.

 

Membership: 71 members paid up for the 2006/07-year.

  

Fundraising: Amboy extrication Symposium over 300 registered.  22 classes. Amboy is building a Confined

Space trailer.  A lot of the materials have been donated looking for $700 to complete. This trailer will become

BFFA property once it is completed.  Photos and information will be coming to the web site. 

Motion made by Amboy, Seconded by Hooppole.

 

 

Resources: In the process of being updated. It will be posted on the website when completed.

 

Conference Committee: January 6&7 working on location

 

Water Fight: No report

 

Funeral Committee: Funeral detail in Fulton, BFFA received a thank you and a donation. 

Chief Lalley has been working with someone on training the members.

 

Website: BFFA website is seeing more use from our members. We would like to encourage everyone to post

their events on the BFFA Calendar.

 

Old Business:

Bus trip to Springfield May 11

Bus will leave Jewel in Dixon @ 0545, Amboy Fire @ 0615, Busters @ 0645.

 

Tony Dinges: the BFFA calendar and IFSI calendar has been tied together on the BFFA website to help

aid members in signing up for classes.

 

501C3 Status:  still working toward receiving it.  We are missing the Article of Incorporation

 

New Business: None

 

Upcoming events:

Amboy Extrication Symposium

 

A fundraiser for a Rockford firefighter who passes away is in the works. 

April 15, 2006 at Cherry Valley St 2 a dinner and helmet & window stickers will also be sold.

A benefit for James Mead.  March 31, 2006 Poker night @ Sublette Community Building 1800 hrs. 

May 13, 2006 an auction will be held as a fundraiser any questions contact Nick Dinges.
