Walnut is having a Basic Wildland Certification class on May 19th. Princeton is having a FF Rescue & Survival class on July 15th. Princeton is having a Basic C.O. Training class on July 27th. BFFA website calendar has a lot of training listed and adds more as we become aware of it. Members are encouraged to check the BFFA website at www.bffa.net and click the Calendar button on the left. Most events and training on the calendar have a link to more information on that event or training. This is a great resource that BFFA provides and we would like to see more members using this service.
Safety: Kevin handed out a Tech. Info sheet for 2006 Hybrid. Newsletter: We are still working on format. Currently we are using a legal sheet of paper for minutes but soon we will be moving to a larger sheet and eliminating the need for envelopes.
Membership: No Report.
Fundraising: 50/50 raffle sales are going good and we would like to ask all members to get their tickets turned in as soon as possible. The drawing will be April 8 at the Amboy extrication.
Resources: Brad is working on a list of BFFA resources.
Conference Committee: Jeff said that the 2007 conference will be January 6th, 2007 at the Clock Tower in Rockford. They have larger meeting rooms to accommodate more people and keep the classes comfortable and not as cramped as we had this year. We will try this location and see what kind of turnout we get.
Water Fight: No Report Funeral Committee: BFFA Honor Guard conducted a visitation and funeral service in Fulton, IL. We currently have six people on the Honor Guard and we need more people. We would like to encourage chiefs to ask their membership if anyone is interested in being on the BFFA Honor Guard. Anyone interested should contact Kevin Lalley. Kevin stated that we are waiting on more info on the costs for training.
Website: We would like encourage members to use the website. Members can submit events for the calendar. This is a great resource to get the word out on training, department fundraisers, and other department functions. The website also has message boards for members to talk about training, events, and other discussions.
Old Business: BFFA Bus trip, May 11, 2006. Bus is reserved. Anyone interested should contact Dean Ege.
New Business: BFFA would like to thank Chief Ebens and Aston Fire for hosting this months meeting. There still time to register for the Sublette Grain bin rescue on Feb 25th.
